What does SheDo Tax require in order to prepare my T1 personal income taxes?

To start, we have you fill out our SheDo Checklist that will assist us in gathering your personal information to start your T1 personal income tax return.  We can send the checklist to you using our SignNow App to fill it out electronically OR we can send it to you in PDF format where you can print, fill it out, scan and email it back to us at info@shedotax.ca.  To send us your T Slips (T4,T4A,T4OAS, T5008 etc..) along with any receipts for deductions such as childcare, donations, medical expenses and tuition… you can send them to us in PDF format or clear photos by email.  If you have more detailed expenses to claim from a business, rental property or employment expenses, we do have additional checklists available to help you gather any and all deductions you are eligible for. We do not need to see every receipt for these claims, only the totals.  Be sure to keep all your supporting documentation for 6 years in case the CRA asks for them.

I am not sure if I have all my slips, do I wait?

Don’t fret, SheDo Tax Company can be granted access to your CRA My Account through the “Represent a Client” portal. There is a signed authorization form that you will need to sign.  From here we have limited access to previous years tax data, as well as all slips on file. We will do our best to make sure no income slips are missed!

How much does it cost to prepare a T1 Income Tax Return?

Our base fee for an individual tax return is $105 +hst up to 6 T slips. We offer a discount for couples at a rate of $185 when filing at the same time. We also have further discounts for both FULL TIME students and seniors. Students currently in FULL TIME high school or post secondary education and under 25 years of age with a simple return – simply pay $25.00.  Seniors 65 and older collecting CPP and OAS, pay $65 +hst (up to 6 slips).  Any additional T slips over 6 have an additional fee. Additional fees for Sole Proprietorship and Partnership businesses, Rental Properties, Capital Gains calculations, Moving Expense calculations…to name a few.

How much does it cost to prepare a T2 Corporation Return?

Our base fee is $1,500.00 (and up) and includes financial statement preparation for small and medium sized businesses. This number is dependent on several factors: whether you have proper bookkeeping completed throughout the fiscal year, the size of your business, complexity etc… To file a NIL corporate return, our fee is $250+hst per year.

I am looking for someone to Incorporate my business, can you help?

SheDo Tax Company does offer incorporation services both at a federal level with Corporations Canada and provincial level with Service Ontario. You provide us with your corporation details (name of business, shareholder info etc..) and we take care of the rest. Incorporation of your business includes a Nuans name search, minute book and consultation.

I am not local to the Haldimand area, do you offer virtual services?

SheDo Tax Company is happy to offer a full virtual service. We proudly have clients all over Canada.  We can gather all information via email, telephone or online drive such as google. Now that the CRA is currently accepting electronic signatures, we use a wonderful program that will allow you to sign your documents online from your phone or laptop! Easy peasy!

I am looking to have my taxes done right away, what is your turnaround time?

We have a small team of determined women who work diligently. We pride ourselves in getting your T1 return completed within 5 days, sometimes as quickly as 24 hours for simple returns. T2 Corporate returns are a lot more detailed and complex.  T2 corporate returns take about 1-3 weeks to process.

Do you offer instant cash-back like H&R Block?

No, we do not offer instant cash back. We e-file your return for you, and if you have direct deposit you can normally expect your refund within 7-10 business days.

I am looking for a Bookkeeper, can you help?

Here at SheDo Tax we conduct monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping services. We use QuickBooks Online exclusively, but can migrate from many different software systems including Sage, and QuickBooks Desktop. We can help you take care of HST remittances, payroll, bank reconciliation, expense entering and invoicing. We have the option for monthly billing, and are currently accepting new clients.

I have a Quickbooks Online account for my bookkeeping but I am having trouble.  Do you provide any type of training?

Quickbooks Online does have free training videos on their website.  However, a lot of our clients do need more specific 1 on 1 training and we are happy to provide this training virtually.  We set up a time through Google Meetings, share our screen and give you specific training to fit your needs.  The cost is $105 per session.
